Christi A. Cannon joined GCG in July 2007, and is based at the firm's Atlanta, Georgia office. As one of GCG's Senior Account Executives, Ms. Cannon supervises client projects and assists with new business efforts. Her expertise in national and international complex litigation allows her to address the specific needs of clients throughout the United States and overseas.
Ms. Cannon has spent her legal career representing both plaintiffs and defendants in complex litigation in the United States and internationally. Following law school, she spent 5 years practicing at Chitwood & Harley in Atlanta, Georgia. Then, she was associated with Troutman Sanders LLP also in Atlanta, Georgia. Later, as partner of her own law firm, she represented individual and institutional investors in a thriving practice. In 2005, she joined Schiffrin & Barroway LLP as Of Counsel and relocated to New York City. During this time, Ms. Cannon litigated the largest securities class action in history, In re Initial Public Offering Securities Litigation, pending in the Southern District of New York.
Ms. Cannon received her law degree from Emory University School of Law and her undergraduate degree from Auburn University, magna cum laude. While at Emory, she was selected by its faculty to be one of 12 members of the Order of the Barristers in her class. She was also selected by faculty to be one of 12 members from her class in the Lamar Inn of Court. Ms. Cannon is licensed to practice law in Georgia and has been admitted to practice before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia and all Georgia trial and appellate courts.
In 2005, Ms. Cannon was voted by her peers and named by Atlanta Magazine and Law and Politics Magazine to be a "Georgia Super Lawyer," placing her in the top 5 percent of all attorneys in Georgia and among the top 15 securities litigation attorneys in Georgia.
